This is when we transform the club grounds into a summer retreat for relaxation and festivity. We will be setting up the event tent, arranging tables/benches, and setting dinghy and kayak racks into place as well as other tasks as needed.

Our garden and landscape team will be preparing to create another spectacular display of color on the grounds over the coming weeks.

We hope to see lots of you on the grounds doing what SSYC members do best, lending a helping hand!  Pastries and coffee will be provided in the morning and lunch will be served after the work is done.

In this seminar, we will go over dock line sizing, how many you should have, how and where to properly attach them to the dock, and how to install some basic wave/fender boards on the finger pier.

This is open to new and old members alike! With all the new slip holders at the club, we thought it would be best to have this informational session to help everyone have a successful and damage-free summer.

Sweeping and Cleaning the Grounds
Gardening

To fuel our efforts, coffee and pastries will be served in the morning, and a delicious lunch will be provided once the work is completed. This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the club's maintenance and connect with fellow members.

The SS Christopher Columbus was built for the 1893 Worlds Fair in Chicago, and carried almost 2 million passengers from downtown Chicago to the fairgrounds during the exposition. After the fair, it was part of the passenger service industry between Chicago and Milwaukee. During its 40 year career, it reportedly carried more passengers than any other passenger vessel in history.

We will need lots of volunteers for all the closing tasks so please come out and lend a hand. Dress for the weather and in comfortable clothes that are appropriate for doing work. Life jackets are required while working on the docks.
