It's Easy to Submit an Article

luke radomskiThe new SSYC website offers many new features for better communication among members. One relates to the monthly Compass. It is now extremely easy for members at large to submit an article or other information that they feel would be of general interest.

Log in and go to For Members/Members Home. In the members' side menu you will see click titled Compass Submissions. Submit your article right there via the interactive window. Also upload up to three images for incorporation in your article. We have posted user instructions and, for authors, a brief guide to Compass style. To see how it works go here. If you are not already logged in, you will be asked to do so.

The Compass will remain our mainstay mass communication vehicle. But don't forget the new ssyConnect social media site-within-a-site. It works just like Facebook. You can form groups, make friends, start discussions and create photo galleries. Unlike Facebook it's completely private, noncommercial and off limits to the outside world. It's a private place which invites members to create online communities. People already are having fun with it. Why not give it a try yourself?

Also a reminder to update your information in our new members' directory. All you have to do is find your entry, click on it, view your current details and then click Edit Profile in the upper right-hand corner. Filling out all fields isn't mandatory. But we would appreciate it if you at least update your e-mail address and phone numbers.

Sailing and Racing

SailboatsIf you are interested in sailing, and more specifically racing, there are ample opportunities to join one of our racing fleets, or to crew on one of the boats in those fleets.  The women's fleet races on Mondays, small boats race on Tuesdays.  Big boats race on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  And the double handed fleet races on Fridays.

You can learn more about the various racing fleets by clicking here.  And the racing schedule (for all fleets) is available here.

PowerboatOur power boaters are active fishermen.  An annual fishing contest is held in July.

In addition, our power boaters host a number of events, usually on Thursdays as well as many weekends.
