Wehnes Dave 2014Handbook2The 2014 SSYC Handbooks are now available from the office.  This is a full replacement of the old handbook, with all sections having been updated.  Our club manager and Rear Commodore updated the "Rules and Regulations" section of the book.  (This information is also provided on the member home page of the website.)  The information in the directory portion of the book was taken from our accounting system after it was updated based upon the annual membership renewal forms we all filled out.  The bylaws section is current as of the March general membership meeting.

The directory is also available on-line on the club's website.  It includes information for Auxiliary members too.   It is updated more frequently than is the paper directory, and I find it quite useful.  To maintain member confidentiality, you must be logged-in to the website for it to be available.

The SSYC Ship's Store is also on the club's website.  In keeping with the rules associated with our 501(c)7 status, it too is restricted to members, and one must login to the site for it to be available.

Would you like to help the Publications Committee?

From time to time, it would be helpful to have someone with more artistic ability than I have help me with some of the information that goes into the Compass.  If you have good Photoshop skills (or something equivalent) give me a call.

And, if anyone is interested in helping proof read the Compass on a Sunday evening, that would be helpful.  Each issue is proofed on Sunday evening and Monday morning before it is published.

Sailing and Racing

SailboatsIf you are interested in sailing, and more specifically racing, there are ample opportunities to join one of our racing fleets, or to crew on one of the boats in those fleets.  The women's fleet races on Mondays, small boats race on Tuesdays.  Big boats race on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  And the double handed fleet races on Fridays.

You can learn more about the various racing fleets by clicking here.  And the racing schedule (for all fleets) is available here.

PowerboatOur power boaters are active fishermen.  An annual fishing contest is held in July.

In addition, our power boaters host a number of events, usually on Thursdays as well as many weekends.
