BergRussThis will be my last Power Boater’s Article.  After nine years on the board, the board position and chairman of the Power boater’s is being turned over to George Graubner.   I will, of course, assist George in the transition process.

Hope you have signed up for the last Power Boater event of the year, the ball, which is being held on November 2, 2013.  The festivities begin with cocktails at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m.  The selections include roast pork tenderloin or chicken marsala.  The cost is $30.00 per person.  Please join us to celebrate the 2013 yachting season and the annual award presentation.  Dancing will be to the sounds of “Mary DelRae”.

Watch for an email announcement for the planning meeting which is normally held in January.  Bring fresh ideas and your calendars to plan the 2014 year.

If you have suggestions for improving, changing or revamping any of our activities, please feel free to let us know.

Thanks for all of your help and assistance the last nine years, and join me in welcoming George aboard.

Sailing and Racing

SailboatsIf you are interested in sailing, and more specifically racing, there are ample opportunities to join one of our racing fleets, or to crew on one of the boats in those fleets.  The women's fleet races on Mondays, small boats race on Tuesdays.  Big boats race on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  And the double handed fleet races on Fridays.

You can learn more about the various racing fleets by clicking here.  And the racing schedule (for all fleets) is available here.

PowerboatOur power boaters are active fishermen.  An annual fishing contest is held in July.

In addition, our power boaters host a number of events, usually on Thursdays as well as many weekends.
