The tenth season of the Friday afternoon Double Handed races was completed on September 20th with 15 of the 21 boats in the fleet on the starting line. The weather forecast was a little ‘dicey’ but it turned out to be a great race.
We’ve gotten a little competition from McKinley’s MAST Fleet this season but our losses were countered by the addition of a new entrants.
Special thanks to our Race Committee; John Archibald PRO, Pat Randa, Gary Mattson PC, Jerry Rakowski and Chris Gribble.
Again this year our Season Series ‘trophies’ for the top three finishers will be large SSYC burgees with gold lettering. The winners are; first Special Sauce, second Sabotage and third Caravel. Congratulations to all! I’ve also laid claim to an un-deeded trophy and will be creating our Double Hand Fleet trophy for the trophy case in the Lakeside Lounge.
No huge changes are anticipated for the 2014 season and the request for donations to help cover food costs was a real help in keeping our costs down. See you all on the starting line in June.
