GaleTomSaturday August 3rd was our second annual Pirate Palooza.  This is a great event because we make very special efforts to involve the KIDS.  Face painting, games, eye patches, cannon fire and sword fights, and a REAL pirate invasion!   Thanks Laura Wehnes, Vince and Lynn Verhasselt, Doug Gallus, and Mike Dziubek for a great show. The Cannon fight was wonderful. Thanks also to Ken Dziubek for a very spirited narration of the invasion! This year we had more kids then ever.

Next I have to send out a HUGE “Thank You” to all the volunteers for this year’s Corn Roast! Like last year it went smooth as silk. It was also great see a number of “New Members” in volunteer mode. Not only was your help needed and appreciated, but it is the BEST way to get to know other Club members. Our building is great, but it’s not the Club. The “people” are the Club, and the more you meet and know, the more fun you’re going to have. Note to ALL new members, Welcome and volunteer!

The band we had for the Corn Roast was “Hat Trick”. Great energy, harmonies, and they kept people on the dance floor. What more can you ask of band!

The next BIG Theme party is Saturday September 7th under the Tent. It’s an “Authentic Western BBQ and Dance! So wear you 10 Gallon Hat, and Cowboy/girl boots. Reservations required for the BBQ Dinner. We’ll have a prize for the best dressed Cowboy and Cowgirl. The band we’ve hired is “Genuine Drive”. They are a real Country Band with a fantastic sound. Once again, even if you don’t dance, you’ll want to hear this band, they just make you want to MOVE!

Attention all Skiers, Attention all Skiers!! Too Early to Think SNOW? Once again a number of us are going skiing in February out to Winter Park Colorado. You can learn more about the various racing fleets by clicking here.  And the racing schedule (for all fleets) is available here.

In addition, our power boaters host a number of events, usually on Thursdays as well as many weekends.
