Oh what a night! The party 100 years in the making and it was a huge success. Originally the plan was to cut-off ticket sales at 130 but demand was so great that we had to increase it to 180. That increase was handled extremely well by our Club staff. Again, thanks GM Pat Nora, Chef Sam Spiegel, Dining & Banquet Manager Karen Orlovitz, Bar Manager Ed Holschuh and the entire staff. The hors d’oeuvres were great and Badger Liquor’s wine samplings were terrific and how about that ice sculpture? Entertainment Chair Tom Gale booked a great band, The Crocs, and the bar did an outstanding night. Our special day was recognized with proclamations from Governor Scott Walker, County Executive Chris Abele, Mayor Tom Barrett and the Milwaukee Common Council. Official guests were our County Supervisor and County Board Chair Marina Dimitrijevic and our Alderman Tony Zelinski also MYC Commodore Sue Becker and SMYC Commodore Jon Haag. Welcomes and speeches were kept to a minimum so we all could enjoy the food, drink and music.

The photo tile mural will soon be taking shape so if you’re one of the 100 who purchased a tile and haven’t contacted Chris Gribble with your photo now is the time to do it. GM Pat Nora has a great selection of clothing with the commemorative logo and Pat Rakowski and Kay Putney are selling the first of our commemorative merchandise.

Work on the ‘official’ commemorative anniversary book is progressing, it’ll be loaded with photos and historical information of your Club and just a reminder, every member will receive a free copy when it’s published.

SailboatsIf you are interested in sailing, and more specifically racing, there are ample opportunities to join one of our racing fleets, or to crew on one of the boats in those fleets.  The women's fleet races on Mondays, small boats race on Tuesdays.  Big boats race on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  And the double handed fleet races on Fridays.

You can learn more about the various racing fleets by clicking here.  And the racing schedule (for all fleets) is available here.

PowerboatOur power boaters are active fishermen.  An annual fishing contest is held in July.

In addition, our power boaters host a number of events, usually on Thursdays as well as many weekends.
