GaleTomGreetings Party Boaters I hope you made it to the St. Patrick's Day Party, it was wonderful. Free live music and a $10 genuine Irish corn beef and cabbage dinner. That was a great deal! I'm telling you the corn beef was tender as a mother's love, thanks to chef Sam and the kitchen staff.

Easter Sunday is the traditional Easter Brunch and the next P A R T Y is Saturday April 13th. This is going to be CRAZY day. The Power Boaters are having their annual Wine Tasting from 4 to 8pm with wonderful wines, beers, and heavy Hors d'oeuvres in the upper dinning room. $30 per person and Reservations required. But down in the lower lounge starting at 7pm and going to 11pm, Vince and Lynn Verhasselt have put together a DISCO Party! So gentlemen, dust off your John Travolta skin tight white suit and get ready to "Strut your stuff". Ladies, we're going back to the 60's, so think bell bottoms, mini skirts, bright flowered colors, and BIG hair. Rent "Disco Fever" and that will tell you all you need to know. Russ Berg tells me it's okay to attend the wine tasting in your "60's attire"! There is no charge for the DISCO party, but being "COOL" is required for admission!

Saturday April 20th we're bring back the very popular Mexican Buffet from 5 to 7:30pm and Karaoke from 7 to 11pm. Remember, I've got over 100,000 songs in my library so I've got something for everyone. We've been attracting some really great singers. Believe it or not, SSYC has some vocally very talented people. Whoda thunk?

On May the 4th, the Kentucky Derby is coming back to SSYC. Mint Juleps, BIG fancy hats for the ladies, horse races, games, audience participation, and a trip down to Church Hill Downs. This party will start in the afternoon, and run till.....Giddy up!

Next we have the party that was 100 years in the making. On Saturday May 18, we're opening the entire Club, first and second floor for BIG Centennial Gala. Attire will be Yacht Club Bristle. (Google it). Again Heavy Hors d'oeuvres in the upper dinning room with entertainment on the first and second floor. As great as our Halloween and New Years Eve parties have been, this is going to be BIGGER. So circle the date and bring your friends. We're only doing this one "Once Ever 100 Years". So make sure you're there, because it's L O N G wait for the next one.

My next Entertainment Committee meeting is Thursday April 4th at 7pm. New Committee members welcome. Bring your NEW ideas.

SailboatsIf you are interested in sailing, and more specifically racing, there are ample opportunities to join one of our racing fleets, or to crew on one of the boats in those fleets.  The women's fleet races on Mondays, small boats race on Tuesdays.  Big boats race on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  And the double handed fleet races on Fridays.

You can learn more about the various racing fleets by clicking here.  And the racing schedule (for all fleets) is available here.

PowerboatOur power boaters are active fishermen.  An annual fishing contest is held in July.

In addition, our power boaters host a number of events, usually on Thursdays as well as many weekends.
